Children and youth in our community continue to experience hunger for a wide variety of reasons.  We know that when students participate in a Food for Learning program, they are engaged in their learning, experience a sense of belonging at school, and develop lifelong healthy eating habits.  Food for Learning can help improve the lives of students by providing food at school.

When describing the impact of the Food for Learning program at their own school, a Program Coordinator shared, “Students don’t always come to school with lunches and snacks. Teachers have reported that students are more focused and alert once they have had nutritious food from this program. The nutrition program has benefited the students in their eating habits and has provided a variety of foods that students have asked for at home. The program sends home recipes for those requesting them as well.”

It is through the support of generous donors, volunteers and school staff that Student Nutrition Programs have such a positive impact on students; thank you to all who help us continue to support Food for Learning.

The Feed the Meter campaign is supported through the generous contributions from campaign sponsors;  Starboard Cares (Cool 100 & Hits 95.5 & InQuinte), Quinte Broadcasting (Mix97, Rock107, CJBQ & QuinteNews).
